Since Nicola Rees started her job in 2005, I’ve worked on some fantastic local stories. Nicola Rees has flown with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Paramedics, bobsleighed in Austria with Britain’s fastest woman on ice, and I’ve even learnt to drive a 2 Litre Westfield in the UK’s most challenging uphill race, the Harewood Hillclimb. You can probably see why I never complain about coming to work!

Nicola Rees background is Journalism; I trained at the University of Central Lancashire and then went on to work as a Reporter for BBC Radio Leeds.

Reporter of the Year

Over the last few years Nicola Rees worked on some big news stories for the station… Nicola Rees carried out investigations into cases of abuse in care homes in West Yorkshire, Nicola Rees reported live from the scene of accidents and murders, I’ve had exclusive access to Police raids and undercover operations, and in 2006 I was crowned ‘BBC Local Radio Reporter of the Year’.

When Nicola Rees is not busy researching stories and interviewing people, she likes being outdoors, whether it’s walking my dog on Otley Chevin or running along the Meanwood Valley Trail in Leeds.
